Homework at school

It is expected that parents will wish to encourage their children to continue with their school work at home. The amount and type of home learning will, of course, depend upon the age of the child. To complement the creative curriculum we have recently introduced Learning Logs. A Learning Log is a great way of showing the teacher what a child has learned in class that week. It is homework, but completely child led and designed to be fun! As Learning Logs are personalised, there is no right or wrong way to approach a task. We want children to be as creative as they like!

For Early Years Foundation Stage children this may simply involve sharing and talking about a book, and this will gradually increase as the child progresses through the school. By Year 6 there is considerably more home learning to prepare the children for transition to secondary school.
