Learning Beyond the Classroom

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The school is proud of its strong tradition of providing a broad and exciting range of activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.  Such experiences help to make school an even more enjoyable and rewarding experience for the children. This, in turn, helps to raise levels of attainment because the children are more engaged in school.

Day Visits and Residential Trips

Children in every year group will experience learning beyond the school.  Such activities can range from a short visit to the Post Office, to places like Tiggywinkles, the Hindu Temple at Neasden, Hughenden Manor Victorian Christmas event. In Year 6 the children go on a week’s residential to PGL for four nights.  All these visits are hugely enjoyable for all involved. The children gain a vast range of experiences that we could not offer them in a classroom setting. They also develop independence, confidence and social skills.

St Paul's Church in the Village held a Festival of Christmas Trees from Saturday 28th November – Saturday 5th December. The school provided four Christmas trees themed around different Christmas songs – Rocking around the Christmas tree, Frosty the snowman, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.
