September 2023 start
The children will need a phased start to big school so as not to overwhelm them or exhaust them. Here is the plan for the start in September:
- Monday 4th September- Wednesday 6th September
Children are dropped off between 8.30- 8.45 am at the main gate, opposite the field (see the picture below). Mr Tang or Mr St Croix will be on the gate every day if you want a chat!
The children then stay until lunch and are picked up from the main gate at 12 pm.
- Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September
Children are dropped off between 8.30- 8.45 am at the main gate, opposite the field. They stay until after lunch and are picked up from the main gate at 1 pm. Children can bring a packed lunch or order a delicious hot meal through Innovate.
- Monday 11th September onwards
Children are dropped off between 8.30- 8.45 am at the main gate, opposite the field. They stay until after lunch and are picked up from the blue playground at 3.15 pm. Children can bring a packed lunch or order a delicious hot meal through Innovate. Children can also join any of the after school clubs!
Frequently Asked Questions
Please email Mr Tang on email@example.com if you have any questions we can answer here- thank you!
Do children bring in PE kit?
No- children wear PE kit to and from school. It maximises PE time and saves on having to have everything ready. Two days a week they will be in PE kit, three days a week in school uniform.
What days will my child have PE?
For most children it'll be Tuesday and Friday.
Do Reception children need a pencil case?
No- we'll supply everything for them. Years 1- 6 are allowed pencil cases but it's not mandatory- we can supply stationery.
Do children need book bags?
Yes please, but they do not need to be the West Wycombe branded bags.
When will Class Dojo start?
From Friday 1st September.
When will I meet the teachers?
On Wednesday 6th September at 6 pm in the Hall- all parents are welcome to attend.
What do I do if my child is anxious about the new year?
This is perfectly natural as the transition from the long break back to school can be overwhelming. We recommend modelling excitement for the new term, a strong focus on all the positives and have long chats on everything they are thinking about.
