PTA and Class Reps
What is the PTA?
The PTA is the ‘Parent Teacher Association’ for West Wycombe School. All parents automatically become members of the PTA when joining the school and can attend the many events and fundraising activities run throughout the year. Money raised by the West Wycombe School PTA is used to purchase additional items for the school/pupils.
The West Wycombe School PTA has a group on Facebook, where we post details of upcoming events, ask for parent volunteers and post updates on events held. Please feel free to join the group and like our page so that you can keep up-to-date with all our activities.
Who are the PTA?
The West Wycombe School PTA Committee is made up of the following people:
Chair: Kelly Hurst
Treasurer: Michelle Glenister
In addition, each year group as its own class representatives. The role of the class representative includes:
- Attending PTA meetings and passing on comments and suggestions from the other parents in your child’s class
- Helping with school events
- Drawing up a list of contact details for all the parents in the class
- Coordinating collections for end-of-term presents for teachers and teaching assistants
The West Wycombe School PTA can be contacted via the school office.
When do we meet?
We meet regularly to discuss forthcoming events. Additionally, each September we hold an Annual General Meeting to review the past year’s activities and accounts. We advertise the date of each meeting on the noticeboard on the shelter near the front gates and by ParentMail. All parents are welcome to attend our meetings. Meeting minutes are available from the school office on request.
Where does the money raised go?
All the money raised is carefully used in school. As well as buying specific items that the school needs, the PTA also arranges and funds or subsidises events for the children each year such as the Christmas lunch.
Class Reps are for giving the parents a forum to discuss school issues productively and share ideas. It's a great way to represent your class and help drive school improvement. Class Rep meetings will be at the end of each Half Term.
