I am currently vice-Chair of the National Governors’ Association and also a Trustee of Northampton Roman Catholic Diocese and a member of the Diocesan Education Committee; I chair Buckinghamshire County Council’s School Governors’ Consultative Board. My background was in training in a large bank and an international computer marketing company and I have been training governors now in excess of 10 years in Bucks and in other Local Authorities.
    When not governing: Spending time with my four children and two grandchildren.

    Expertise/experience: As a parent of a Year 3 child at WWCS, I have a vested interest in helping the
    school to achieve the highest standards. My background is a mixture of Neuroscience research and Business Development in the Biotech industry. I have a Master’s degree, a PhD and a great deal of experience operating at Board level, in a commercial setting.
    As a parent Governor, I would see my role as one of strategy mapping, support and guidance, helping the school to think outside of its box and always presenting the school in the best possible light. I value transparency, open-mindedness and good communication, and offer these, along with my knowledge and experiences for the benefit of the school and all of its stakeholders.

    Expertise/experience: Abi has been the Headteacher of WWCS for about 18 months and has led the school on its journey to improvement from Special Measures to an Ofsted judgement of RI, with many Good features (Early Years, Leadership & Management and Behaviour, Welfare and Attendance). Abi is a qualified SENDCo (PG Cert SENCO) and has also gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. She has previous experience as a Deputy Headteacher on a FGB.

    Expertise/Experience: Tony is a former Director of Education and Children's Services. Earlier in his career Tony worked as a senior education officer for Buckinghamshire. He has chaired the interim executive board of another Buckinghamshire school before joining the board in West Wycombe.
    When not governing: Tony spends a lot of time with his family. He is also a licensed lay minister in the Church of England and a member of the Oxford Chapter of the Harley Owners’ Club.

With my experience from my work and life, my passion and belief in education, my determination for my children and all the children of WWCS to succeed, as a parent governor, I will do and contribute all I can to support the school and its dedicated staff in helping all our children to achieve the best possible education and life outcomes. I believe I will be uniquely placed to contribute to the continuing improvement of West Wycombe Combined School (WWCS), further develop the ethos of the school, champion the views and opinions of parents and be proactive in helping to influence all that WWCS aims to achieve for our children.

    Expertise/experience: I am the mother of 2 girls who attend West Wycombe School, Reception and Year 2. My day job, bar being a parent and wife, is with a large mail and logistics organisation where I work as Head of Operations managing a team of both office and homebased managers across the UK. Along with people management I am responsible for supplier relationship, legislation and more recently GDPR requirements. I have great team who support me as I do them. I would apply the same support to the parents as I do my work colleagues in a professional environment.

I have been part of the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body that have moved the school into its ‘Good’ rating. I have been a Staff Governor for 10 years of my teaching career.
