British Values

British Values

We looked at British Values thoroughly throughout UK Parliament Week in the Autumn Term. Children were engaged and enthusiastic to describe their understanding of the following values:

Democracy
The rule of law
Individual liberty
• Mutual respect
• Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

As part of UK Parliament Week, we were lucky enough to have a visit from The Mayor and Steve Baker, the MP for High Wycombe.

The Mayor, Andrea Baughan, gave an inspirational and informational presentation on what it means to be Mayor. The school were totally engrossed throughout and found it fascinating. Questions from the children ranged from ‘What are the different pressures involved with being Mayor?’, to ‘What are you doing about Climate Change?’.

‘What did you have for breakfast?’ was a surprise but the Mayor handled it perfectly! We are so grateful for the visit!

Our British Values Song

Wycombe Sound interview our Year 6s!

We went on the radio to discuss our work on democracy, British Values and our visits from the Mayor and our MP!

On Wednesday 10th November we enjoyed an engaging and inspirational assembly from our MP, Steve Baker. Our children were keen to understand how our parliament works and demonstrate their knowledge of government, democracy and British Values.

Thank you, Mr Baker, for your visit and support!
