EYFS
West Wycombe provides an open ended and enabling environment where play is our vehicle for learning. Research shows children are most engaged when they are undertaking activities that are initiated by them and based on their current interests. When children show high levels of involvement, progress and development subsequently occur and we aim to provide a curriculum and environment that reflects this. Children are supported by skilful staff who are specifically trained to seize the moment when a child shows a level of interest and curiosity.
In the Early Years Curriculum, there are seven areas of learning. To achieve a Good Level of Development (GLD) at the end of the year, children must reach expected levels in the prime areas in addition to Literacy and Maths by the end of their reception year.
