Intent

West Wycombe School believes that Physical Education (PE), experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is essential to ensure children attain optimum physical and emotional development and good health. We aim to inspire all children to lead a healthy and physically active lifestyle, and to promote the benefits of exercise for mental health. We want the children’s experience of PE to be positive so they are motivated to continue healthy habits as they proceed though school, and life. We want them to succeed and reache their full potential. We want to develop both physical attributes and a range of skills to ensure they are confident leading an active lifestyle in a range of activities, and expose them to competitive sport to aid the development of values such as fairness and respect, and character qualities such as resilience and compassion.
