Feedback Friday
Autumn 2 2024
Just wanted to say a massive 'thank you' to all the staff at West Wycombe, who work tirelessly to love and support our kids. Both my boys are having the best time and I know that's down to the whole team! Thank you!
Thank you for the lovely feedback!
Pick up is quite chaotic and hard for the teacher to spot the parents saw a year 1 child leave without a parent again today but he was stopped by a teacher down the side alley. Appreciate it is really hard but not sure if it can be improved, if the children line up possibly. Thanks for everyone's hard work.
Thank you for the feedback. We have added a member of staff to the black playground (usually Mr Tang) as well as a member of SLT on the front gate. These are to ensure children do not run off and/or leave the site unsupervised or with an unknown adult.
We have also moved where the classes stand at dismissal to space them out more.
Ensuring the books sent home are checked each week and different ones sent twice per week. Had sane ones for 3 weeks.
We’ve informed the relevant Class Teacher- thank you and apologies for the inconvenience.
Cones to be removed for breakfast club and after school club as people are parking past the cones further down and blocking the road.
We’ll need to consider this as the cones are there to deliberately discourage any parking.
New pupil- is there any way we can be told when someone new starts in the class. So as parents we can also welcome the family.
Yes- good idea! We’ll shout out new families and children on Dojo as/ when they join us.
School Trips - we seem to know last minute when they are and costs. Is there anyway we can know earlier or even at start of school year.
Yes- we are working on the definitive School Trip Overview- this will be ready by January. Once we’ve finished it, it’ll have all of the trips for the year, with costs and dates. This will be the standard for each year, so Year 5 will know what trip they can look forward to, for example, and parents will be able to plan accordingly. Thank you for bearing with us in the meantime.
School menu changes this half term with regards to sandwiches. Taking off tune and ham and replacing with egg. Obviously this is a money saving exercise but it's taken off two very safe foods.
We’ve sent this on to AIP and are waiting for a reply. We appreciate and apologise for the inconvenience this will have caused.
Could a survey be done to see if there would be anyone that would want a later after school club.
We’d love to host a later club- we’ll need to look into how we can staff this. If you would like a club later than 4.15, please let Mr Tang know how long you’d like it and on which days. Thank you!
I think my child would benefit from having handwriting practice sheets to trace and take back from school as l feel they would help practicing their writing and spelling decodable words to enough writing at home.
We’ll put these on our website this weekend. Please message your child’s Class Teacher or Mr Tang if you’d like us to print these off and send home on Monday.
Behaviour - if a child is accused of hitting - The parent/ guardian/ carer should be informed and any accusations should be investigated thoroughly before action taken.
Thank you for the feedback. Please be assured that we take accusations of hitting very seriously and as per our Behaviour Policy, we investigate thoroughly before taking action. We inform parents immediately and invite them in to discuss the incident so we can work together to resolve the conflict.
The staff are excellent and they very supportive. The new Behaviour Levels are very clear and have been helpful in understanding the school’s approach to behaviour. Some parents are parking in the road by the school and obstructing the path- this is dangerous and worrying.
Apologies for the parking situation- we’ll deploy more staff to patrol to ensure parents do not park outside the school.
